Thawing Human Milk for Hospitalized Infants: Use of a Laboratory Bead Bath May Be an Effective Method for Large Quantities

Hospitals with centralized handling of human milk feedings may find it challenging to thaw large quantities of milk for feeding preparation as commercial milk warmers generally only accommodate small numbers of bottles at a time. This research study evaluated the use of a laboratory bead bath to thaw large quantities of human milk and found it to be safe and effective.
